The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring an EMT-Tactical^® certification course. This class will include Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and 45 EMS CEUs (NR/State).

Prerequisite: This course is open to public safety medical personnel and is expected to field students from military, federal, state, and local agencies as they come together to learn some of the latest and most advanced techniques in treating casualties of the tactical environment.

Emergency Response Team

The mission of the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team is to support the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and any other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies by providing a tactical response to critical incidents. Critical incidents are Hostage Situations, Barricade Situations, Sniper Situation, High-Risk Apprehension, High-Risk Warrant Service and VIP Protection.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was first formed in 1982 with 10 deputies. Today the team has members consisting of deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, police officers from the Lockport Police Department, the Lewiston Police Department and peace officers from the Niagara County HAZ-MAT Team.

Since its inception in 1982 the team has been activated for over 700 operations. Most recently the unit has begun obtaining SWAT certification, expanded their training capabilities and hosted a Tactical Medical School.
